... right, I'm currently right now reading Pick a Color, which is last year's Giller Prize winner.

His most recent play, Prince Faggot, ran off-Broadway for seven months in 2025.

He has twice won Canada's Governor General's Literary Award for Drama, and his work has been presented at venues including the Young Vic Theatre and Sadler's Wells in London, the Kitchen and Lincoln Centre in New York City, and the Deutsches Theatre in Berlin.

He was just 56 years old.

He never won a Giller Prize or a Governor General's Award.

A prize for authors of thrillers and horror doesn't exist in this country.

But now, Andrew Pyper's wife and a group of writers are launching a prize that recognizes novels in that genre in his memory.

The later... insight that i had into a uh a predominant obsession was when i judged the giller prize in canada and again it was about 120 130 novels and this was about 10 years ago now and it was uh predominantly tales by second-generation immigrants of historical stories of their parents' country of origin.

There are a lot of those, and I think that's the sort of admirable thing, so long as they don't… It doesn't kind of overrun the rights of Bangladeshis still living in Bangladesh to write their own stories, which will be heard.

It's an interesting thing, judging a big literary prize.
