Gili Motang

The island is hot for most of the year, baking under a tropical sun that turns the savannah grass golden and drives everything that can find shade into the Shade.

The communities on Komodo and the surrounding islands, Rinka, Flores, Gili Motang, had always known about the very large lizards that lived here.

They were not a secret.

They were not a legend whispered around campfires.

but I mentioned they were in, they're endemic to Komodo National Park.

They're actually endemic to five specific Lesser Sunda Islands in Indonesia, and that is Komodo, obviously, uh, Rinca, Gili Motang, Gili Dasami, and the island of Flores.
