The son of, yes, the son of the Beatles guru, creator, producer, George Martin, Giles Martin, of course.

You know you've had a busy week of interviewing people when you forget that George Martin's son was in the studio talking about the Beatles on Radio X and we forgot.

That's terrible.

It was on Monday,

though, wasn't it? Wasn't it right at the start of the week?

Well, because we've had so many guests, it feels like a different week, doesn't it? So, yeah, and Giles Martin was awesome.

What a week.

thickness to the song and so they've they've done a good job there and a lot of people don't like that the Beatles music has had that done to it I'm one of those that I don't have a problem with remastering and remixing because the original recordings are still there but you can also it's kind of interesting to hear these new ones brought out and you can hear things that you haven't heard before

I think it's really cool having Giles Martin George Martin's son being involved in a lot of that kind of you know passing the torch down

Yeah, it's interesting, and there is a lot of controversy there because there are Beatles fans that absolutely hate Giles messing with it, and there are some that love it.

I, for one, don't have a problem with it because, like I said, the original recording still exists.

Tyler is kind of bummed out and never been to Paul McCartney.

I don't go to concerts often.

and you're running out of time i know i'm saying but paul plays a ton of songs but this is not one that's been on his current touring set list these days he pretty much relies very heavily on his best known hits from the beatles obviously from his wings era a little bit from his solo era it has popped up a little bit in his tour but not very often and rubber soul is an album that really hasn't got the full remix from giles martin i think people were expecting it in 2025 being its 60th anniversary but it didn't happen and So I guess we're not going on that direction, but it really is the next album that needs to be done unless they're going to go back to the first.

I don't know.

It's kind of a spiritual cousin to George's version of I Really Love You.

But no, this is a great version, and Giles Martin would remix it for the George Harrison Greatest Hits album.

Man, if you're trying to keep up with these Beatles repackagings and re-releases, you're not going to have a lot of pocket change.

But I want to get that because Giles Martin, George Martin's son, who is kind of the caretaker of the sound of the Beatles, they were able to get this and remix it.

And I need to give it a listen.

I haven't listened to it online because I want to get it on vinyl.

With that said,

though, I'm pretty sure it was The Beach Boys who started mucking around remixing stuff in Atmos and 5.1 and stuff before little Giles Martin.

Anyway, let's not restoke this old rivalry.
