Who are the best players on this defense right now, in your opinion, for this year's team?

Yeah, I mean, you look at guys like Gil Jackson, who are obviously just one of the freaks of college football.

He's a 6'4 corner.

He's blazing fast.

And if they can stop the run, it's all up to Q1 Jenkins and completing some passes.

So put that on the bulletin board for Jamel Johnson and Gil Jackson and Vernon Glover and all the guys.

It's up to y'all.

TCU secondary, it's up to y'all.

I genuinely do.

I think Gil Jackson is the truth.

I think Vernon Glover is really solid.

I think he's going to give you a lot.

The only other people who had one only had one.

Mind you, he's the only person next to Oluwale who has multiple pressures, right? And then as far as hits go, he and Gil Jackson are the only ones who got hits on the quarterback.

No one else.

So this is a player who in 11 pass rush snaps, and shout out to Gil Jackson because he only rushed four times.

So shout out to him as well.

But Karan Hayward, four pressures on 11 pass rush snaps, one sack, one hit, two hurries of the quarterback.

Two of them came in the first quarter.

One came on the first play of the game, a pass interference on Gil Jackson.

Then we saw a holding penalty on Ben Taylor-Whitfield.

And then there was a penalty, I believe, in the second half at some point.

I thought that they had explosive plays or they gave up explosive plays early in the game, but All in all, right, like the wide receiver got a couple of plays, but it just felt like he was beating the corners.

Not Gil Jackson.

And then it felt like that tight end got a little open, got a little loose on a couple of early plays down the field.

You just want to kind of.

It just struck early in the game, and then you sure things up.

I've said it before, Gil Jackson looks like the truth.

I don't wanna crown him after one game, but he looks like the truth right now.

But the run defense allows you to feel like you have a good floor.

I'm looking forward to them playing a team that can get their confidence back.

Because I'll be honest, when we talked to Jeremy Payne and Gil Jackson on, I believe it was Tuesday or Wednesday, Gil made a comment saying that the players were still kind of struggling around thinking about that loss.

And they got to rally around and get past that loss and move on to the next week and know that they still have 11 games to play.
