But that's also really beautiful because it sounds like it's a gift economy, right? Where people, they're not keeping score of who's done what and they're giving so much of their time and resources freely in the spirit of building something much bigger and more beautiful than themselves.

And a part of that is to help protect fan fiction from legal scrutiny by keeping it non-commercial.

It's very sweet if you think about like, you know, back in 1970, people were mimeographing their Kirksbach fanzines for each other, right? There is that tradition of fans printing these things.

And there's a big, big component of this world that's extremely committed to the gift economy.
