Rod BabersHOST
Compliment this team without mentioning defense.
Jeff HoweHOST
Gianni Spetic has been a tremendous add from the portal.
Rod BabersHOST
[laughs]
Jeff HoweHOST
He's been really good.
Rod BabersHOST
All right
Jeff HoweHOST
...
Jeff HoweHOST
Gianni, I, I, I think Gianni Spetic, the, you know, the one miss against Oklahoma, I don't fault him for that.
Jeff HoweHOST
Like, that's a, that's a tough kick to make.
Nick ShuleyHOST
He's nine of 10 field goals, long of 53, 31 of 31 on extra points.
Nick ShuleyHOST
Uh, Gianni Spetic had his first miss last week.
Nick ShuleyHOST
We know, but he's eight of-
Rod BabersHOST
One touchdown?
Erin HoganHOST
He elected to kick it.
Erin HoganHOST
I don't think that's inexcusable that he went for it, meaning his kick- kicker, y- G- G. Spetic, has been seven for seven.
Erin HoganHOST
He's kicked a 50-plus yard field goal this year, and the field goal, you know, puts you in the lead with that defense.
Erin HoganHOST
It forces them to have to go the length of the field and against your defense, which they haven't shown the ability to do.
Parker ThuneHOST
And so there's a bunch of different ways you can go.
Parker ThuneHOST
Ultimately, Sarkisian elects to try the field goal here, and Gianni Spetic pushes, pushes it just barely wide right, and that gives Oklahoma a chance, which they actually went three and out and punt-
Eddie RadosevichHOST
That was one of those that you didn't know that it was, it was gonna be wide right until, like, you could hear the crowd.
Parker ThuneHOST
Eddie, Eddie, incredible shot right there.
Bobby BurtonHOST
Uh, third downs, three of 14, two of 13.
Bobby BurtonHOST
A Gianni Spetic miss, another big piece of this, uh, game as well.
Rod BabersHOST
Mm.
Bobby BurtonHOST
Um, I look at this game, and Texas looks like they should've won it, but, uh, execute, uh, OU executed better in the, in the clutch.
Thomas BreseeHOST
Jeff Banks is a very, very beloved guy in this industry.
Thomas BreseeHOST
He's not coaching very well, plainly and simple, because Gianni Spetic has the leg to make those kicks.
Thomas BreseeHOST
And frankly, he missed by a little bit.
Thomas BreseeHOST
I'm not overly mad at that.
Nick ShuleyHOST
...
Nick ShuleyHOST
Texas is no slouch either with Gianni Spetic at kicker.
Nick ShuleyHOST
He's been one of the best in the nation.
Nick ShuleyHOST
I think Max Schimento is, uh, I think, yeah, I think he's about to hit his stride.
Chip BrownHOST
That would negate everything they're trying to accomplish on that play, where Jermaine Bishop's back there and, and Ryan Niblett is the decoy.
Chip BrownHOST
Um, but are we gonna see any life from special teams in, other than Gianni Spetic, who is seven of seven on field goals? Um, are we gonna see any life from the Texas special teams in this game?
Eric HenryHOST
Yeah, Chip, the old lay down and play dead trick, right?
Chip BrownHOST
[laughs]
Jeff HoweHOST
Uh, you know, if, if...
Jeff HoweHOST
I would feel bad 'cause if we were grading the special teams, even though Gianni Spetic as-
Bobby BurtonHOST
Yeah
Jeff HoweHOST
... as of right now, really good pickup out of the portal.
Jeff HoweHOST
it would be one, "Hey, you didn't fail this project, but everybody else around you was so bad, your group gets an F for this project."
Gerry HamiltonHOST
[laughs]
Jeff HoweHOST
Like, that's what I'd have to tell Gianni Spetic.
Jeff HoweHOST
Um, so thoughts and prayers on that.
