Oh, it really is.

Look at the live-action Ghost in the Shell or Netflix's attempt at Cowboy Bebop, which was incredibly highly anticipated.
speaker_1HOST
And then immediately canceled.
speaker_0HOST
Exactly, because it completely misread the tone of the original.
Andrew CoonsHOST
Was pretty good, actually.
Andrew CoonsHOST
Ghost in the Shell, starring Scarlett Johansson.
Andrew CoonsHOST
Actually, the less said about that last one, the better.
Andrew CoonsHOST
But my question is, where are these alternate versions coming from? Tests remain inconclusive, but may be related to this week's film.
Drew DietschHOST
I'm just talking about it like I could watch Troll 2 again.
Drew DietschHOST
But now we'll head over to the listener shelf picks for last week's episode on Ghost in the Shelf for 1995.
Drew DietschHOST
KG went with Cherry 2000, a movie I probably need to see at this point simply because it's one of those like I saw that VHS all the time in the video store.
Drew DietschHOST

Drew DietschHOST
Yeah, exactly.

Drew DietschHOST
Eric Johnson went with Ghost in the Shell from 2017, which I don't have time to talk about because I have incredibly mixed feelings about that movie.
Drew DietschHOST
Steven Espello went with an absolute favorite of Travis's Ex Machina.
Joel DuscherHOST
she...
Joel DuscherHOST
Was in Ghost in the Shell, and then she was meant to be playing a transgender man in Robin Tug, which is a movie that I don't even know if it came out.
Joel DuscherHOST
I feel like I remember hearing about this.
Joel DuscherHOST
And then that's when she said, any person, any actor should be allowed to play any person or any tree or any animal in defense of her last two roles.
Travis NewtonHOST
And Matt went with another Charlize Theron action flick, Atomic Blonde.
Travis NewtonHOST
And last but certainly not least, Stephen Nesbella went with the 2017 version of Ghost in the Shell, which is very appropriate considering next week's episode.
Travis NewtonHOST
Yeah.
Travis NewtonHOST
And a movie I certainly have mixed feelings about that 2017 Ghost in the Shell movie because there's production stuff about it that is really impressive.
Travis NewtonHOST
But then it's also what it is.
Travis NewtonHOST
But thank you as always.

Travis NewtonHOST
So big recommend for Portal to Hell.

If anybody checks it out, let us know.
