Broderick said that the approvals are the start on the town's increased focus towards addressing and ultimately rectifying drainage problems.

Other measures include plans to work further with village officials on inflow and infiltration, working with GHD engineering consultant partners to address drainage problems affecting the Phase 8 area of the Lewiston Park subdivision, and pursuing partnerships with Niagara County and New York State Parks to address drainage concerns on county and state highways in Lewiston, along with the Niagara Scenic Parkway.

It is our responsibility to find a solution to this, and I think, with all the steps we've taken tonight, that a solution is going to be found, Councilwoman Sarah Wachter said.

Town officials said they're willing to work with residents and better address problems with the Backflow Preventer Program.

I don't wanna make it t- you know, too boring, but, um, I, well, I did a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geography with an honors in, well, sub-major in botany, and I'm, I did my honors thesis on the impact of fire and mining on coastal heathland.

Did the big consulting firm rounds to start with, GHD, Sinclair Knight Merz, and CH2M HILL.

What I did have, uh, and loved at the time was all those companies were employee-owned, which is, um, GHD still is, but some of the others aren't now.

So that was 15 years of my career, and then I got very much burnt out.

I, uh, was trying to do everything, small children, juggled the load, had my annual, um, review and spent the whole time crying.

Zivin is also passionate about mentoring engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and contributing to the advancement of road design practice.

Andrew Baker is a Technical Director at GHD's Highways teams with over 25 years of experience delivering complex road and transport infrastructure projects.

A recognised road design subject matter expert, Andrew provides technical leadership, governance and assurance across major transport programs, helping clients navigate complex design, constructability, safety and stakeholder challenges.

He also plays a key role in developing road design capability across GHD through mentoring, technical leadership and the delivery of national training programs.
