So if you think you're gonna come in and take advantage of these poor, poor folks who have been asked to evacuate or don't have, uh, power, uh, you're gonna run into probably, uh, deputies, uh, who aren't in uniform and who are just out there specifically looking for that challenge.

The Getty Villa as well as Malibu High, Malibu Middle, Malibu Elementary, and Webster Elementary schools are closed today.

Parts of Malibu have had power shut off, and more shutoffs could happen.

Advice is charge your phones and have backup batteries available.

... and that was the gifts he would bring me, were art books for me and my brother.

And, um, and then when I was 19, I started going to the Getty Villa, uh, you know, in Malibu, and they had that great collection there, and I started going almost every weekend.

I was, I was a student at USC at that time, and, uh, but I would take friends with me.

And I got to learn about the paintings, the 19th century paintings, the porcelains, and the furniture.

And so to be, you know, to have you, uh, as a partner in life and now kind of a partner in also what you're doing, has really been a huge blessing to Peter, I can tell you.

And, and you, and I, he would say that too, because I know Peter, he loves you so much.

Um, but it, it is a kind of a beautiful thing how you weaved the two and how your, how much influence your father had, um, on your life and, and the fact that you were at the Getty Villa every weekend, that's, that's pretty amazing, 'cause it's not trivial to get from USC to the Getty Villa.

And then I have this giant version I got at the Getty Villa of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, also known as the Book of Going Forth by Day.

The general gist of this is the Egyptian concept of the afterlife, which, you know, for all of, for all of the, um, aesthetic, mortuary cult obsession with death stuff that we affiliate with ancient Egypt, they greatly loved life, and their concept of death was truly afterlife.

And their concept, at least one of the concepts, 'cause there were many-

A little bit of a dive into Mycenaean Greece perhaps.

I went to the Getty Villa this last year, and had a special exhibit on the Palace of Nestor, so called, named after Nestor from The Odyssey, but this grand palace they found in Pylos, Greece.

And they'd also had on display relics from the Tomb of the Griffin Warrior, who was this warrior found buried in, in, like, a shaft tomb with a bunch of these artifacts, and they found a bunch of other artifacts alongside of it- So there's a thing called a boar's tusk helmet.

I mean, I, you know, and, and, and I think we're very welcoming.

It's, we fund a number of education programs at the Getty and they open up the Getty Villa for us.

And we're probably about the only ones who do that.

And, and, you know, you're like, people can't believe where they are.

I ca- I can't wait to play this.
