Get the Party Started

Really? Yeah, she's like gone on podcasts where she talks about her career and I had no idea.

She's like, she's like wrote songs for like Get the Party Started was a joke song that she wrote that Pink bought and was like, I actually want it and like paid her like... a bunch of money and then promised her uh of mercedes-benz if she uh if that charted number one or something and then so on the podcast she's like pink or she calls her by her real name i forget her real name but she calls her by her real name and she goes where's my mercedes

are you serious yeah that's kind of pretty that's pretty awesome like i love that i had no idea that's amazing

Yeah, I forget her name off the top of my head, but she's an incredible producer and songwriter.

So I wasn't wrong about that, but I was like, wow, there were a lot in this era of pretty big songs that Pink had.

What have we covered? We've covered this one, Some Girls, Get the Party Started, and that Misunderstood album.

We probably should have covered that.

in full

I don't think it's one of her stronger choruses, though.

It's something about it.

Get the party started.

That one, I don't know.

Yes.

And get this party started and all of that.

Wait, that's Kandi? She didn't do Get This Party Started, but she did do her first album with all those other hits that we know back in the day.

Even when she was in her black era, she had men of color.

Her love interests were men of color.

But it was a fun record.

And then we get to Pink, which is get the party started, which I remember first seeing her for the first time.

And like, there's a skate ramp in there and being on the East Coast.

Like, who was this girl from Philadelphia? And it was just game changing from that.

It's Maverick, right? Yeah.

I sent it to him because I thought it sounded like something Madonna could do, and he turned it down, and I joked with him at a party one day, and I'm like, as it's number one all over the world, I'm like, I go, you think you would have still turned that song down? And he started laughing, and everybody was like, what's she talking about? And he's like...

I passed on get the party started and they're like, Oh, whatever.

Is that he totally manned up and was totally humorous about it and great.
