But yeah, in episode two, there is a car chase involving a bunch of food trucks in which Jiro smashes someone's head in with a ice cream machine uh and in episode three a dude gets their face uh cheese grated you know which i'm sure in animated form is much more palatable palatable than it would be in live action so
Ashley HobleyHOST
47:22
uh i'm enjoying it so far it's like the animation
Ashley HobleyHOST
47:25
style kind of it looks it feels like a heightened version of archer i guess is the animation style that is kind of how I would describe it is like very 2D but like it's got that very thick lines and that kind of stuff um the food in this looks really good because they do cook really great stuff and like explain how these foods are made um yeah I'm enjoying it so far like they're only like 30 it's usual animated 30 minute episodes I believe four episodes are out so far I've only watched the first three but uh get Jiro it's a lot of fun and uh Probably not a good idea to watch her on an empty stomach, though.

Eve JacksonHOST

Get Jiro is an animated adaptation of the graphic novel by the late celebrated chef, author, and TV presenter Anthony Bourdain, who took viewers around the world exploring food and culture, and it really is getting rave reviews.
Dheepthika LaurentGUEST
8:17
Yeah, I mean, I'll be honest, this is not something I usually gravitate towards, but I do, uh, really love Anthony Bourdain.
Dheepthika LaurentGUEST
8:23
I read some of his books and, um, not this one though.
Eve JacksonHOST
8:28

Dheepthika LaurentGUEST
8:32
Ge- Get Jiro takes us into this post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, uh, in this wasteland created by, uh, climate change.
Dheepthika LaurentGUEST
8:40
Culinary chefs rule the roost, and they control access to food, uh, basically like a mafia would.
NoahHOST
42:45
And then we're just, we're still doing our, our Godzilla and Twilight-
TravisHOST
42:47

NoahHOST
42:48

NoahHOST

Dan BarrettHOST
4:46
Get Jiro, which is the Anthony Bourdain created animated series, which is obviously debuting quite a number of years after his death.
Dan BarrettHOST
4:52
We're going to talk about all that and actually not much more.
Dan BarrettHOST
4:55
Like we're literally just talking about that and maybe the Bergon moths a little bit more through screen watching.

1:23
But the chef behind the counter, this deeply taciturn guy named Jiro, he doesn't sigh.
speaker_2HOST
1:28
He doesn't even scold the customer.
speaker_1HOST
1:30
No, he definitely does not.
speaker_1HOST
1:46
Exactly.
speaker_1HOST
1:47
It's the reaction to it, because the cops eventually show up, right? And they don't draw their weapons.
speaker_1HOST
1:52
They don't arrest Jiro at all.
speaker_2HOST
1:54
They just kinda look at it.
