And the teachers were these fantastic, not every one, but many of them, fantastic women who in today's world would be heads of corporations or heads of universities or, you know, something more than teachers in a little girls school, but that was a long time ago.

One of them was the, uh, mother of Gerson Cohen, who later became the chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary.

The other was the wife of Saul Lieberman, who was a great, great Talmudic scholar at the Jewish Theological Seminary.

We didn't know anything about their sons or husbands.

So I sort of relate to her in that, and I was a student at the Jewish Theological Seminary, as she was.

My first job in the whole world was working at the seminary library.

Gerson Cohen was the librarian.

We became very close friends, Gerson and his wife, Naomi, and my husband and I.
