Heinrich Hoffmann, the man who made Hitler famous.

The man known to history as Heinrich Hoffmann was born on the 12th of September 1885 in the town of Fürth, in the Bavaria region of the German Empire, a suburb of the larger city of Nuremberg.

His father was Robert Hoffmann, a photographer by trade who came from a family that had engaged in that craft for decades, effectively having been pioneers of professional photography in Bavaria.

Heinrich's mother was Maria Hoffmann.

In many ways, the Second Industrial Revolution was far more transformative of Western society than the First Industrial Revolution that ran from about 1770 to 1840. while the earlier version introduced the concept of factories and steam power, followed by railways and steamships.

The second industrial revolution led to electrification, the advent of telecommunications through the telephone and telegraph, as well as the mass extension of the railway networks across Europe and the Americas, and machine tooling.

Germany in particular benefited from the Second Industrial Revolution after the unifying of the country to form the German Empire in 1871.
