How are the characters brought to you?

I didn't really know too much.

The breakdown for Penelope was like dangerous, seductive.

You wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her.

She was originally French as well.

But then when I auditioned, they realized I'm English and like, oh wait, this could be a really interesting turn for Penelope.

And so then we started carving her out to be more English and bring that side to the character.

What was that experience like? How did you guys hit it off right away?
