Georgia Amoore

You have Shakira Austin, who still is obviously young herself, um, but adds kind of that assisted veteranship to an extent.

But some other people I kinda want to focus on are the assets to them, when we're taking a look at an elite scorer of a Sonia Citron, the reemergence of Georgia Amoore, who I've just loved Georgia Amoore in general since college.

Um, even Cody McMann and just what she's been capable of doing, her physicality.

Lauren Betts, who I feel like has been able to kinda come into herself a little bit more each game.

100%.

And when you can have kind of people that shoulder a lot of the play making, so like a Austin, Irafen, or a Citron, and then you have enough players surrounded by them that can just step up whenever you need to, that's usually the recipe for a successful team.

And looking outside of that, I mean, like you've mentioned with Georgia Amoore, she's become more and more comfortable in that point guard position, really starting to find her three-pointer shot as well, which I think is gonna be huge for this team because they could ...

When you want as much balance in the interior and perimeter as possible.

Mm-hmm

... uh, I feel like I haven't given Georgia Amoore enough credit defensively this season, uh, probably because, like Olivia Miles, uh, and I, I don't regret saying this at all, they did not try on defense in college.

Like, their teams relied so much on them-

I, I have to lay it with the Mystics.

I'll tell you what I noticed, 'cause they were down double digits and then Georgia Amoore went off from three 'cause they were doubling Citron, and Shakira Austin had one of the worst games I've ever seen her play.

They play really well when they're in their comfort zone.

Like, you're not up in the passing lanes, you're not smothering them when they pick up their dribble.

They find a way.

They're led by Kiki and Sonia and Georgia A. Moore.

And Shakira.

Like, everybody's contributing for-

... are partying.

Did you see Georgia Amoore's post? "We did it."

We did it, y'all.

"We did it.

I think she's a very, um, deserving most improved player candidate.

And then so many rookies contributing to winning basketball right away, like Georgia Amoore being the starting point guard on a team that's gonna go to the playoffs.

Warren Betts is playing good minutes.

Cody McMahon is playing good minutes.

And for the Mystics, they've honestly only been getting better throughout the course of this season.

I think when you look at a player like Georgia Amoore, who is getting more and more comfortable in her role as a point guard, even Lauren Betts, who has been doing a tremendous job of fulfilling that role coming off the bench and just being an efficient interior scorer and cleaning up the glass.

Those are the also supporting cast performances that you wanna see out of a well-running group, and that's exactly what the Mystics are doing right now, and that's how they would want to maintain this dominant fashion that they've been on.

Yeah.

but you don't get that without the coaching and the development.

And, and I know we talk about Georgia Amoore and that they needed another point guard and, and I think she's improving.

We just, we don't see it right now.

Um, and we may not see it per se the way we'd like to see it, you know, until, until next year.
