Georgetown County

So again, for those of you who are unfamiliar, let me give you the quick rundown before we get into, like, the timeline, the details, the shady-ass TikToks, and everything else that has transpired.

So five-year-old Saylor Hayes had traveled with her family from Bristol, Virginia, to a vacation rental in the Hagley Estate area of Georgetown County near Pawley Island.

This is in, uh, South Carolina.

Now, according to her parents, Saylor was non-verbal and autistic.

I don't know.

Doesn't sit right with me already from the jump, but you listen to this call and tell me what you think.

I need help.

She was a five-year-old beautiful little girl, autistic, nonverbal, and according to her parents, she had a history of wandering off and a strong attraction to water.

So on Sunday, August 30th, around 11:39 in the morning, a man named John Hayes called 911 from Georgetown County, South Carolina, and he reported that his daughter was missing.

He told the dispatchers that she had, quote, "taken off," and that little girl was Saylor Hayes.

Which describing it as a five-year-old taking off, I don't know that those are the words I would personally use, but to each their own, and I know everybody reacts to, you know, grief and fear and trauma differently.

But it felt a little afoot from the very beginning.

Now, according to her dad, they were staying with friends, and they had looked everywhere for Saylor.

I need help.

But again, looks can be deceiving, as we've learned time and time again.

So going back to August 30th, like I said, the family was on vacation in Pawleys Island, which is located in Georgetown County, South Carolina.

It's a four-mile-long barrier island known for being very relaxed, uncrowded, and rustic.

It's separated from the mainland by a salt marsh and accessible by two short causeways.

But as John put it, Saylor was gone in a split second.

Now, let's listen to the full 911 call placed at 1141 a.m. that morning.

After his breakup with Ernie, Moody relocated to a nearby rundown motel in Georgetown.

As you may recall during the investigation into Brittany's disappearance, officials had tracked her cell phone movements, with the last connection the phone making being with a cell tower near Georgetown County border.

This border was suspiciously close to the motel Moody was staying at.

Aware of his sex offender status, investigators began to ask acquaintances for information, including Ernie.

Ernie claimed that Angel sounded rather drunk or otherwise impaired and began to say some suspicious things about Brittany's disappearance.

After hearing of this from Ernie, investigating officials knew they needed to interview Angel Vores.

On the 26th of April 2011, exactly two years after Brittany went missing, Georgetown County investigators interviewed Angel at the local sheriff's office.

It started with a 911 call on Sunday to Georgetown County, South Carolina.

My little four-year-old, five-year-old girl.

John Hayes made the call about five-year-old Sailor Hayes, who was prone to wandering away from her caregivers.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I've got to find her.

After hundreds of volunteers searched the area, Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver confirmed the worst on Monday.

The body of Ms. Saylor Hayes has been found.

She was a leader in turning my hometown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, into an entertainment powerhouse for a few years in the mid to late 1990s.

The fact that she had a business here also led to her imagination library setting up shop in our community here and in Georgetown County.

And Dolly Parton had another title to the countless children here.

and in her homestead, Tennessee, and now around the world.

I have heard this story.

Clark, don't try the one in Georgetown County, okay? You stay right where you are.

Yeah, well, that's good advice.

I'll stick with the one here in Richland, right down the road.

A- and in particular, it was right here in this part of the state.

They call it kinda the Pee Dee region, Myrtle Beach, Horry County, Georgetown County, working your way into northeast South Carolina here.

When Donald Trump came for that rally for Darlene Graham, it was in Myrtle Beach.

And, and the, uh, uh, the, the strategy for Graham, uh, with that Trump, uh, uh, rally was to drive up her support as much as she could here in Horry County.

I, I think there'd been sort of an expectation that if she could get into the mid to high 60s here, she'd be doing well in Horry.

She got nearly three quarters of the vote right here.

And she overperformed like that, uh, next door here in Georgetown County, getting almost, uh, 70% of the vote, and then in some of the smaller rural counties here, getting well over 70, close to 80% of the vote in some of those places.

So really, it was sort of, this is considered i- in South Carolina Republican politics kinda the heart of Trump country.
