The response to the president's claim that he was carried out has, again, been met by the media that is reporting on it with a, uh, certain degree of skepticism, shall we say, maybe incredulity.

[sighs] When George Santos got caught lying about his mother getting cancer from exposure to ground zero, the collective reaction, left and right, was that it was disgusting and wrong that a human being, regardless of any political aspirations or achievement, that somebody would lie about their family being involved in the attack on America, or God forbid, dying as a result of 9/11.

And when wealthy people want to obtain a priceless commodity, they're willing to put the money where their mouth is.

One case involved the fraudster George Santos, who was elected to Congress to represent New York's Third District.

It was revealed that he had fabricated much of his life story.

He was expelled from Congress in 2023.

I think that's what happened with Santos.

He played up the degree to which he felt mistreated.

President Trump, in his social media post announcing the clemency, called George Santos somewhat of a rogue, but said, quote, there are many rogues throughout our country that aren't forced to serve seven years in prison, and then talked about him being horribly mistreated.

So you could see how this sort of like fact pattern that will resonate with Trump and that a lot of these clemency seekers have taken advantage of that.

This first one's pretty funny.

The prediction market Kalshi has barred former Congressman George Santos for life after finding that he likely used the platform for insider trading.

The former representative from New York made nearly $18,000 when he placed bets on whether he would attend President Trump's State of the Union address in February.

The prediction market also slapped Santos with a $71,000 fine.
