His name is George Matheson.

MEMORY VERSE ISAIAH 42.16 I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not.

I will lead them in paths that they have not known.

Beyond every storm, there is a rainbow.

George Matheson wrote, I trace the rainbow through the rains.

This is the way God leads us today, friends.

All these things happened unto them for examples unto us.

So, let me introduce you to Dr. Lyra Hunt George.

1911, she shows up here to the College of Medical Evangelists to teach the students obstetrics and pediatrics.

CME is a fledgling institution at the time.

The school of cooks and bakers was the other class.

You wonder why we have such good fellowship halls, right? I love the fellowship dinners here.

So, Dr. George came to teach, but what she found was was something more important.

In fact, Dr. George's most consequential work didn't take place on this campus.

We'll be debunking more myths about blindness shortly, but first, it's time for the final installment in our miniseries on blind hymn writers.
