It makes me think of the independent watchmaking when it all started with the pioneers in the 80s, Sven Andersen, V&A Alter, obviously Philippe Dauphour, George Daniels, F.P. Journe.

Then clever people like Max Busser, like Felix Baumgartner, Martin Frey, you know, the Debetune, etc.

Quick note on language.

In this episode, you may hear me refer to George Daniels and Roger W. Smith as, quote, "British watchmakers." Now, both men are closely associated with the Isle of Man and have often been described as Manx.

Daniels and Smith both had roots in England before making the Isle of Man their home, and both explicitly in their interviews and then also on their own websites at times, they described themselves as British in interviews.

Now, at the time, I understand, of course, that the pride in the Manx people have the-- in their identity, their history, and their culture, and I wanna be totally respectful of that distinction.

And he's taking the watch to a man called George Daniels.

He, he's met Daniels once briefly at a college lecture, like six years earlier.

But the watches themselves, I think, rival anything.

Like, he was inspired by some of the greats, George Daniels, Roger Smith.

That was a huge original inspiration for him.

And I think he's took that and kept that traditional watchmaking feel while making it really modern, all with this amazing mission of reviving an industry that has been dead for 60 years.

So October 7th will also be the pro-Palestinian day of action scheduled across multiple U.S. cities.

The same day, the Second Circuit in Manhattan is scheduled to hear the Saudi Arabia's appeal seeking reversal of Judge George Daniels' refusal to dismiss the 9-11 families case.
