They're also just scouring every corner of this area looking for them.

And June's father, Charles, and his son-in-law were actually driving around when they spotted Dana's white Chevy Metro, and it was driving north on Highway 52.

Now, this is a big moment, because for a second, there's just a glimmer of hope that maybe this could be some misunderstanding.

Maybe Dana and June were totally, perfectly fine.

They're obviously still looking for Dana's car and the man allegedly spotted driving it.

And you know what? They would find Dana's car, but not in the condition they hoped to find it in.

[suspenseful music] Later that day, a man who was walking in the Francis Marion National Forest on the way to a fishing hole stumbled across a burnt-out white Chevy Metro.

The car was Dana's, and it had been set on fire.

And people are willing to pay for those things.

It costs us just as much to build one of those vehicles as it does, say, a Geo Metro or something like that that might cost you $8,000 or $10,000 if you're a consumer.

But we get, like, basically nothing in terms of the profit on that.

So we just decided we're going to phase out those economy cars.

[laughs]

Yeah, yeah, you know, Geo Metro only with just bigger tires.

Yeah.

When did you come out as fat?

So I think that when I first embraced it was when my best friend Lish in high school got a Geo Metro, which is a car the size of a roller skate.

And she and I were about the same size, I guess like an 18 at the time.

The first time we both squoze into that Geo Metro, I was just like, well, here we are.

This is officially a clown car.

This is amazing.

And then once they got me out there, like, all right, you're discharged.

And my sister had a geo Metro.

My sisters, all my sisters came down there.

All my, my, my sisters are the best.

And my one sister had a...

Cindy, she had a Geo Metro, and she's like, you're going to have me drive from Knoxville to Cincinnati with him in the back of a Geo Metro.

Which has no room.

And, yeah, it's a little tiny, tiny-ass car.

It is bonkers.

How big is it? Like, if you had a, is it a minivan? Is it a, a Geo Metro? [laughs]

I'd say it's absolutely not a Geo Metro.

No, I don't think Fr- I don't think they did.

Uh, but speaking of this, so I remember years ago sitting in the car of the founder of the Center for Auto Safety and being scared to death because Clarence Ditlow [laughs] had, like, a Geo Metro.
