Gentilly

Russell Jones is the owner of Russell Jones Kickboxing.

He grew up in Gentilly in New Orleans during the 1970s when learning to fight felt like a necessity for young boys.

He began learning Kung Fu in high school and in 1978 began training under Grandmaster Karl Marx, who introduced Russell to a system combining Japanese karate, judo, jitsu, and weapons training.

At 18, Russell began teaching martial arts through Breck at Forest Community Park, opened his own location a few years later, and turned professional in 1983 at the age of 22.

Very few people know him.

He's a cat who grew up in Gentilly.

Eddie's probably close to 70.

He's got all these great stories.

So that was very common, you know, from stories of my dad who's 75, 76 now.

And when he was growing up in the Gentilly, New Orleans area.

But it was common for people to have their business on the bottom and live on the top.

So he references like some bars that were run that way and quite a bit actually in New Orleans area back then.

And his public defender later said that Cornelius was planning to plead guilty and that he was going to, quote, take his lick, make it right and move on.

Cornelius didn't get to take his lick and move on because four days after the indictment was made public on September 22nd of 2020, Cornelius was at his mother's home in the New Orleans neighborhood of Gentilly.

At 8.34 p.m., Cornelius took a phone call.

After a short conversation, Cornelius goes to the front door, presumably to greet someone he is clearly expecting.
