Geno Lewis

I'm not saying this because of the riders, but I'm just asking a question.

Have you heard anything about Geno Lewis playing football again this year?

Boy, that's a good name.

A name that's been pretty quiet.

I haven't heard a lot about him at all in the last couple of weeks, but in fairness, I haven't looked and dug into him.

But, you know, if you're a team like Saskatchewan, if that's where you're going with it, you should kick that tire, shouldn't you? And if you're Geno Lewis, pretty good way to rehabilitate your career because he's not a player that spent a lot of time in the playoffs or on winning teams.

You know, in recent years, if you want to get another contract out of it, being around Trevor Harris and Mark Mueller and a team like Saskatchewan is pretty good.

But then all of a sudden, if these guys all get healthy at once, then, you know, how do you fit all of that in as well, right?

And I'm going to bring up Steve's comment here.

Get Eugene Lewis for five games.

Pay him well.

It just seems like they're missing something.

Do you, like, is it time to go out? Because Shamar Bridges, and I know he got hurt in this one and taken out of the game, and I know he's just, you know, two games into his rider career, but he's not the answer.

He's only had two catches in two games.

Are you making that call to Eugene Lewis? Give him that blank check for whatever's left of the season? Like, what can you possibly give the guy for five games?

If he's gone unsigned for this long, you don't need to give him a blank check to come on board.

yeah but i think the interesting thing there's a couple pieces well a couple interesting things that work up against the ottawa red black one a very similar system to what ryan dinwiddie was working with right Um, unfortunately, Ryan Dinwiddie, or sorry, not, uh, Brian Dinwiddie, but he is what Chris Jones was working with when Chris Jones was with the double E wearing two to three hats, trying to multitask, trying to manage the roster.

Also Gino Lewis was there.

Also Niles Morgan is there right now.

And, um, a cloud Bethel Thompson is about to be quarterbacked.

So, yeah, you know, I think if they don't get Schaefer Baker and MLS, if they got to look at when are they getting these playmakers back? And if it's four weeks from now, it's time to start to maybe look on the practice roster, maybe look into signing guys that are on your neg list and bring them in while they've got a couple of games to get under their belt before playoffs.

Why hasn't Geno Lewis been signed at this

point? It's really surprising.

The only thing I could think of here... and I'm not going into the reputation thing because I just, again, all the players that I have talked to that have been its teammate or, you know, played against them, they've all had good things to say about them.

I would like to see him involved a little bit more, but...

You really got two guys, especially with the release of Geno Lewis, who still hasn't been signed.

Interesting to see if he perks up.

A lot of thought was him maybe going to Calgary, but now that they have Begleton back, I don't see how that is a fit anymore.

I think you saw a big burst of frustration from Trevor after that because he did his job.

He made the pass and just needed that – But when you can continually double Keyshawn Johnson because you just don't have the horses behind, it's tough.

Is Geno Lewis going to perk up here at some point? Someone who has worked with Trevor Harris, I think, briefly in their careers together.

And if not, has all the experience in the world.

I'm wondering if we can't get somebody.

I mean, Canadians are going to be hard to come by, but you've got Geno Lewis not playing football right now.

I wonder about Pimpleton from Ottawa, especially if Letcher's hurt again, which it looks like he is.

We're going to need a returner anyways.

It seems since Jim Papa's coming there, there's a whole bunch of UFL players coming up to Ottawa.

It's like UFL North, which let me tell you right now, spoiler, it ain't gonna work.

So yeah, why not pick up the phone and call Ottawa about Khalil Pimpleton while you're at it? Ask them about Brett Lother, okay? And then to your point about Geno Lewis.

I know what you're saying in terms of talent, but in Mark Mueller's offense, you have to be able to move around, and Lewis has been known as a guy that mainly plays at that X spot.

He was a big name addition there.

Eugene Lewis, um, kinda surprised nobody's picked up Eugene Lewis, by the way, especially with a lot of injuries that other teams have faced at wide receiver.

Um, who else is gone? I mean, they've fired or they've let go Burke as their GM or football advisor.
