Genesis 9

He says, uh-huh, "Who formerly were disobedient, when once the divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is eight souls, were saved through water." Eight souls.

Look at Genesis 9:19.

"These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated." Wow.

Yeah.

No free will in man exempted either from the eternal decree or the overruling providence of God.

Doth the providence of God extend itself to every small thing? Answer.

Genesis 9, 25.

A servant of servants is permanently blighted, prevented from growth and prosperity, continually confused and confounded.

To be a servant of servants is to be continually unable to rise.

Hounded by unhappiness and desolation.

Genesis 9.25 And he said, And he said, Curse be Canaan, a servant of servants, he shall be unto his brethren.

This is a curse that is not supposed to be fulfilled.

that you are not supposed to allow it to be fulfilled in your life.

Before the preaching, God may or may not bless what I've got to say, but he'll always bless his words.

So let's pay attention as we read Genesis 9, reading from verse 1.

And upon all that moveth upon the earth and upon all the fishes of the sea into your hand are they delivered.

And surely your blood Verse 1.

If you are a dispensationalist, and we are in this church, we find in chapter 9, or we commence in chapter 9 of Genesis, the dispensation, the third dispensation, we refer to as the dispensation of government.

We had innocence in Genesis 2 to 3, and then conscience, Genesis 4 to 8.

But in Genesis 9, we really have the formation of human government, or the basis of human government, the premise for human government as we know it today.

But we want to really focus in on Noah and how God worked with him in this final chapter of his life.

It's a mutuality there.

And that extends as we see in scripture, Genesis 9 and elsewhere, that extends to the whole created order.

One of the things I've come to realize more clearly in recent years is that the created order is not just the stage of the platform of salvation.

The created order is a participant is a participant in the whole process of salvation, because that's the nature of the covenant.

I base it on Jesus, but then I try to apply that, particularly the biblical revelation of God's covenant with people and the land, to apply that to all the traditional areas of doctrine.

If you pick up almost any book on theology, systematic theology, or other forms of theology, you'll find almost no emphasis on the land.

in spite of, unless it's somewhere down the line in ethics, you know, in spite of the fact that God is an everlasting covenant with the land as well as with people, you know, Genesis 9.

And I really emphasize that.
