The Bible says in Genesis 13 in verse 12, "Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent toward Sodom." Yes, it's true, Lot made it out of Sodom alive, but his wife didn't, his sons-in-law didn't, and while his daughters came out of Sodom, it's pretty obvious that the spirit of Sodom didn't come out of them.

James 4:7 says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God.

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Resist is what James wrote.

james 4 7 says submit yourselves therefore to god resist the devil and he will flee from you resist is what james wrote in other words make some good decisions be proactive in order to safeguard your spiritual well-being you do that in other areas of your life people make decisions proactively to safeguard and preserve their health We do that to preserve our well-being, our homes, our possessions.

Paradise had been lost, but paradise would be restored.

If you open your Bible to Genesis 3.15, you will see a critical verse when we talk about the promises.

This is a fundamental verse to our faith.

It's what we Christadelphians call memory verses.

In order to understand this verse, it's really important to get the pronouns right.

So let's define each of them this way.

The I here in Genesis 3.15 is God, or Yahweh, who instituted this promise.

The thee and the thy spoken of here is the serpent.

And in Genesis 12, Abraham gets called out of his country and he moves away from his family.

And so I'm sure as his wife, he was like, what are you doing? Why are we leaving all our friends and family, Abraham? And then they go and they get really rich in Genesis 13.

Abraham's super rich and he has some issues with Lot, you know, his wife.

Nephew.

It was tempting them to doubt God's promise.

"'Arise,' God told Abraham, "'walk in the land through its length and width, for I will give it to you.'" Genesis 13, 17.

Have you noticed that God seldom asks His people to do what seems possible? Leave Egypt? The Pharaoh would never allow it.

Leave by the route that ends at the Red Sea? How are they supposed to cross it? Take possession of Canaan? How? But notice when they did enter the Promised Land 40 years later, they followed the Ark of the Covenant.

Well, who says? Like...

Genesis 13, 2, it says Abraham was very rich.

Genesis 26, it says that Isaac began to prosper, continued to prosper.

He was very prosperous.
