Genesee County

So a couple of news releases this last week.

The MDARD and DNR issued a little invasive species note that they confirmed the box tree moth in Genesee County, which is county number 14, all in the southeastern part of the state.

That is an invasive insect that decimates boxwoods.

Make sure you're aware of all the different invasive species if you're out and about or even in your yard because they would like those things reported.

That's Congressman Tom Barrett, Republican representing the 8th District and folks in Clinton, Shiawassee, Ingham and Livingston counties.

The district also includes portions of Eaton, Genesee and Oakland counties.

He spoke with Stephen Henderson on the Thursday night show, Michigan, We Need to Talk.

We're making space next week to hear from Barrett's lead opponent in November, Democrat Will Lawrence.

And so what I do at my work capacity is I work for the Convention and Visitors Bureau.

We are the destination marketing organization for Genesee County.

So we are tasked with attracting visitors to our area for them to explore and have a great experience throughout Flint and Genesee County.

You know, if you're spending your time on Twitter and all of that.

But but truly, when it's that razor thin and you think about how we're going to close the gap, it is with, you know, non-college educated union workers, you know, those in the, you know, area where Kristen McDonald Rivet is in the Genesee County Bay City area and Saginaw.

We just had Congressional Black Caucus Week wrapping up today.

I live in Genesee County and can't pick up Channel 20 out of Detroit over the air.

The season starts in less than a month, and there's still no word on how people in Genesee County and other outstate areas can watch Piston games.

Is it worth lashing yourself to the mast of Donald Trump in order to crank up turnout in, um, to crank up turnout in Genesee County? Uh, or, um...

I'm drawing a blank on-

Right before the 2017 flood, Midland County hired Jen Boyer as our emergency manager.

Jen came from Genesee County, the city of Flint.

and came up and kind of went, there really isn't a process in place for damage assessment in Midland County.

And she started to rebuild that whole system.
