So you still have this control package against other things to deal with the Mist Energies and stuff like that.

But you're still just basically saying, "I'm a cage double Genesect guy," to try and, you know, win against pulp.

Um, I, I think, I, I guess it's really interesting.

W- w- I guess whilst we're here, I won't talk about it too much yet, but it, it also, like, this tournament has also kind of changed the, changed the rhetoric for hide and sneak a little bit, so it's gonna be interesting to see-

Well, Diego packed two Genesect and multiple tools, so the Unfair Stamp was never getting played, and Andrew basically bluffed him of, like, "I'm sitting on Special Red Cards, so you are taking these two prizes, and then I am going to disrupt your hand," right? And then my comeback potential's on.

Mm.

And Diego I, I need to go back and watch it, but, like, he literally drew almost his entire deck trying to find the Eerie, right? He was doing multiple Dunsparces, evolving up from Kadabras into Alakazams.

Doesn't play it right away.

Plays Lilli, draws back into it, doesn't play it again, and everyone's like, "What is going on?" Well, Diego ha- was, you know, nervous of the disruption after he didn't see the special red card after playing Eerie.

So he had attached a Lucky Helmet to, um, was it a Genesect or to an Abra?

I think if we look at the weakness... standpoint against alakazam i should have an edge i should be favorable into the matchup but i drew really really bad and both games i was forced to play both pheasant ptex and patreon ex so the four price was already on the board um i think he had a fairly good hand as well In his game one, he went first.

He didn't bench any Abra, but he just slammed down the Genesect with two.

Then I started pressuring the Genesect turn two or turn three.

He just raw Secret Ash the Genesect.

Just one Genesect.

And then he brought it out back.

And somehow I magically topped that Secret Box next turn.

It's actually super normal.

I guess there's two Genesects.

There's a Dedenne.

There's no Elgym or Nighttime Minds that we've seen, like the Karas Control list that was popularized late in the season.

You have the Dedene in there for situational recursion.

But what's cool about this list, and I really liked, you're playing a couple copies of Genesect with a few different tool cards like Air Balloon and the now infamous Lucky Helmet, which we'll get to.

But I do like the Genesect call in here because watching Diego play this, It was so apparent to me that he really prioritized getting the Genesect down on the right turn, making sure he's only playing it if he has a tool to attach so that it's not vulnerable.

And knowing that once you do that, your opponent, which a lot of Dragapults are playing Unfair Stamp, all of a sudden your opponent can't just Unfair Stamp in response to you taking a knockout and you lose, theoretically.

So I think a combination of that and a well-timed airy, I mean, we saw this, like an airy in one of the rounds.

He played it after he had the Genesect out, got rid of a special red card, and it's like, well, now the opponent has no way to reset their hand, and the game is basically over.

Yeah, especially because that well-timed Airy got the red card as soon as he was going to get down to three prizes.

And I think, I mean, especially watching Alakazam throughout the weekend, you know, because they featured it on match several times, including Diego.

Nice.

Like, that's still my concern with it.

That, you know, like, you know, you get one Buddy Poffin, and then now it's, like, you know, turn two for your Brock Sound, like, or maybe you have enough time to Genesect.

If you had a Buddy Poffin to get the Drober out, then, like, then you can still threaten a, uh, under, but the Undermine, like, turn two.

Like, but it still seems a little, like, tricky to pull all the pieces you need together.

Because

of the,

like, Genesect attack and stuff like that.

And it resists.
