Generation Adidas Cup

Um, and of course you, during your time at the academy, you had some pretty memorable teams that you were a part of and some, um, big moments, but, uh, looking back at that, what were some of your favorite memories from playing with the academy?

Um, I think the, my favorite one has to be the GA Cup in 2024, winning GA Cup.

Um, you know, that was a special moment for me because that was, like, really the first tournament where I had a, a pretty long spell of being injured.

Um, and that was the first time where I was really able to, um, in a few years contribute to a team and, and win a trophy.

I know that.

But one of the comments that's, you know, gets made, and I covered the GA Cup for a long time, is like-

Yeah

... one of the things we do is there's moments where we talk about process, and there's moments where we say, "F it, let's go win."

We've had the joy of watching Taha come up from the U16s or whatever.

I remember first watching him at the Generation Adidas Cup or whatever it was.

I watched him with the U17s with the crew, and he was an attacker.

And then like...

Yeah.

It's a little like before GA, that's pre-GA Cup, way before when they bring over and make the team.

That's right.

Yeah.

So talk to us a little bit about that, because I think that's the part I've tried to express to people.

And me and Tom know way less than you of, like, I covered him at GA Cup.

I've covered him in these competitions where I've said, you know...

And I, I, I took this as well with the comments that he was asked about the World Cup with Alexi.

Yeah, so first I had pre-academy, so Union juniors, I think now it is.

And then from U12, I just went up U13, U14, U15, and then 17th year we won GA Cup back-to-back, which obviously was a great feeling.

And then I signed my first professional contract with Union too, and then we went to the finals there.

Unfortunately, we lost.

most memorable um that's tough i would probably say but it's definitely between when we won the ga cup and academy back to back and then i'll probably say the atlanta comeback and me scoring the tying one and then us scoring after
