Steve, obviously you guys did your part being a part of the New York community with the Mets at the time.

Now, partner, what I wanted to ask, what was the direction you got from the league? Being the GM of the Mets at the time, what was the direction you got from Major League Baseball after 9-11 happened?

Yeah, so it was really just, we don't know exactly the plan yet, they would say, and that they were sorting it through.

Meanwhile, what does a former GM and current national analyst think about the Mariners' issues this season? We're going to check in with MLB Network's Steve Phillips.

Then again, You might be talking about a situation that, I don't know, people are not ready for at this moment, which is if you're Nolan Teasley and you have this incredible asset, but you feel like you have to rebuild, then where can you really go with that? So that it's looming.

There's a lot of questions that are looming, which is why I have invented the GM seat, which I want to get to shortly.

So I want to start a new bit where I look at one specific issue for the general manager facing him sometime down the road and make that kind of a weekly thing or whenever it kind of comes up.

High Boy Time says, really don't know how to feel about this season, this team this season yet.

Uh, CJ ham is the man says the Jefferson meeting was, uh, them eating a snack and he leaves.

I'm not sure what that refers to.

So why don't we do this? Uh, I want to look at something that I've been kind of thinking about called the GM's seat, which is, uh, just like a, let's stop and take a look at a subject that's facing the general manager.

I heard people are like whispering.

Could they possibly make him GM? What do you think? That's an that's an interesting thought.

So my thought process on that is, if it was up to me, I think that, especially looking at an offseason this past year that included so much change in the dugout and on the field, since Andy Green took over, the Mets have played much better.

And even if they lose, you know, two games in a row, three games in a row, they're bouncing back.

And

again, I like the way that Andy Green manages.

So if it was up to me, I would like to be a little bit more consistent heading into next year, allowing veterans like Lindor and Bichette and Soto to know who is going to be the manager and the coaching staff, right? But I find it interesting with the GM because yes, it does make sense, right? There's a lot of front office executives, whether it's in player development, whether it is in scouting that end up transitioning to like an assistant GM role.

And then they become the GM.
