It's a really good question, and I think, I think the biggest thing that I use when, uh, approaching these things is that, personally speaking, and I can't speak for every script editor, but personally speaking, I can't do it for myself.

The skills that I have as a script editor, all the, the experience I have in development, when it comes to my own writing, I, I still need someone else to do that for me.

... a really good lesson in being dispassionate and being arm's length from something, and being able to reflect back.

So it's reflecting back what the writer has on the page in contrast to what the writer is trying to achieve, and then working with them to narrow that gap.
