yeah that that reminds me of a very important question which i missed earlier is all the llm companies that also have their own robotics effort including nvidia i think they announced something called g root i think and 1.6 something like that or deep mind has Gemini Robotics and from what I understand both Anthropic and OpenAI have similar effort as well.

Do these companies have some advantage given that they have this massive amount of infrastructure or disadvantage given that the core intelligence is trained on the general text stuff that we discussed earlier? It's a

complex question.

They can reduce the cost while the data stays behind a firewall.

Or just lately, we've seen, and I think you talked about it, Google has released the Gemini Robotics, what is it, the ERE 1.6, whatever the number is.

So that's a specialized reasoning model for robotics with, I think, a significant improved spatial perception and multi-view understanding, which now in manufacturing... based on our amazing collaboration with Boston Dynamics, that is very good for industry AI.

So it starts to get interesting.

NVIDIA released a general foundation model for robots called GROOT, a new version at the very start of 2026, that a robot maker can start from, instead of training motion from scratch.

Google DeepMind has Gemini Robotics.

A startup called Physical Intelligence has its own models pointing the same way.

After that, we are looking to Google Gemini robotics to their latest model for robotics.

And finally, we are getting into the exciting robot fights.

They are all over the place, all over X recently.

Number seven is Yasukawa Robotics from Japan doing 1.65 billion.

Yasukawa sells the Motoman industrial robots.

They also announced working with Google Gemini Robotics together, which we will come to in this episode as well, and a separate physical AI development with Softbank.

And number eight is KUKA Robotics division,

Google DeepMind shipped Gemini Robotics 2 at the end of July, and it's three models rather than one.

The one in the middle is a Vision Language Action Model, or VLA for short.

That's a policy, and what it does is take what the camera sees, plus an instruction in plain English, and put out motor commands.
