leads to my own youtube channel so hey thanks world of warcraft but no i never played it but i i do have a story that is one of my favorites which is um the wife of a favorite university lecturer was was such a die-hard world of warcraft player that she went into labor during a raid and refused to go to the hospital until they finished the raid because she didn't want to let the party down and then refused to go to the hospital until they'd finished divvying up the loot because she You didn't want to miss out.

That's a real fan.

So I've never gotten to play it.

Geek & Sundry did that too in 2015.

They did it for Titan's Grave, which was Wil Wheaton's actual play that also had actor Laura Bailey, who was also a founding cast member of Critical Role.

And it was a stretch goal, a tabletop Wil Wheaton's Let's Play of board games that was one of the most influential kind of gameplay content material on the internet at the time.

So Ross is to me like we actually I know we always make like I quip that it's all Los Angeles based improv actors.

You just have to be smart about how you're conducting yourself.

Are you being professional? And then what are the details of the arrangement that you're getting into, right? And because we were working with another company, Felicia Days Geek & Sundry, we started out in a scenario where we were all individual performers receiving a set amount of money.

I think it was like 150 bucks a performance or something in the very beginning.

And I think as soon as they saw and we saw that there was a continued and growing interest in the company, they said, hey, let's make a deal to continue making the show going forward.

You know, um, we still have careers that we're trying to juggle and navigate all at the, at the same time.

And so there's a constant, a constant balancing act that happens there.

But, We had so many amazing opportunities to talk with Felicia Day in those early days at Geek & Sundry, and we were picking her brain.

Like, how did you do this? And how do you manage these things? And what have you learned? What would you do differently? And that knowledge transfer is so valuable.

And then in 2012, it kind of turned into, "Well, we can advertise against a hamster, so why are we making stuff? Why are we investing money?" And so the bottom sort of fell out.

Um, I wasn't assured to make more seasons, and I was in the middle of doing Geek & Sundry, uh, a company that I did for YouTube, which was a lot of, you know, non-scripted stuff.

And so I was overwhelmed, quite frankly, with the amount of work and balancing it all, and just discouraged that the thing I loved, doing scripted content, was just not able to be financed at that time.

So that's why, you know, from the beginning of my career, um, and the, and the stuff that I make, it's all about I d- I delight in this thing.
