And if this is your first time in, you're probably like, who the fuck are you? uh well i will tell you my name is dustin i am a therapist in new york city i am a gay man i work with gay and bisexual men in therapy that is the group that i work with so a lot of the things that i talk about on this podcast actually pretty much all of them for the past like two or three seasons have been issues related to gay men or issues that are very general that i have kind of tried to specialize to that audience and this episode is going to be no different this episode was inspired by some things that i saw online i i wanted to do something on kind of like gay perfectionism and gay achievement that's something that i wanted to do something on but i kind of like wrote it down i think i showed y'all like a long time ago i have like a notes app on my phone where i hear something interesting maybe clinically uh like in session or in some kind of commentary or some way and I'll write the topic down and I'm like, huh, let's look into that and do something more on that later.

And this was one of those things.

And in the past week, I've seen a couple of things pop up on social media.

One of them was someone talking about why is it that I hang out with gay men and they always just seem to have everything so put together.

They seem to have like these great careers and blah, blah, blah.

And they had their shit together.

I have to show up better.

All this to say, I definitely did find that the album does hold a coherent message that you guys, I don't think, found.

Even though the songs are... perhaps made at different times i found that they were placed together in a way that does carry some sort of like overall point or overall kind of artistic um oh i would agree with that um in that they they do bring this message and this feeling that i got um i think this is an album for kind of seedy gay guys i mean this is an album for like kind of grungy gay guys who like to fuck.

But in a less kind of picturesque way than I think it's presented now.

When I think of someone like...

um but i'm saying like think about how that operates as opposed to like traditional straight dating apps
