Speaking a bit more in terms of your career trajectory and the work that really what seems to be phenomenal work that you're doing in Renewal Energy, if you had to look back at your career and pick one moment that you learned the most from, what would it be and why?
4:11
See, clearly, you know, there were many crossroads.
4:16
You know, when you get into the kind of career that I had started, You know, you get celebrated by the community.
4:30
It can go to your head and you start thinking you're the most wise person.
4:35
And obviously you're not, but there's just something that you kind of start believing about.
4:46
And then, you know, I had this for some years, I was really interacting very closely with the community.
4:55
And what I realized was the innate wisdom that the women there, the, you know, the farmers there would bring to your discussion and shape your narrative was tremendous because These were people who had to live a day-by-day kind of a life and had to really sustain themselves in a very tough situation.

So is there a way to meet in the middle?

So how are we doing when it comes to the global south? Are governments, let's say, aware of the importance that they should initiate the infrastructure work and then maybe raise the awareness among the people to contribute to the overall goals?
24:10
No, absolutely, you know, because there is so much emphasis on generation.
24:18
So, you know, everyone, because it's very visible, you know, when you put up a large solar plant or you have wind generators, you know, these are exciting projects that are coming to life and generating electricity.
24:33
And they are the visible part of it.
24:36
The invisible part of it are the transmission lines, the distribution lines.
24:41
And often these are, I mean, I would really think that governments need to realize that this is as much of your core infrastructure as are roads and railway networks and many other things that get considered as core infrastructure.
25:03
And as is in the case of infrastructure, you know, it has a gestation time.

30:08
So how do you evaluate the situation in the Global South, especially in Africa or Central Asia, for example?
9:34
So I want to first understand from your perspective that how important was long-term policy signals, and clear national targets, which were ambitious then, which continue to be ambitious now, in creating an investor confidence.
9:49
So, let me put it like this, that the India story You know, what it really tells you is, of course, the experience is important, but what it really tells you is how ambition becomes policy, how policy then goes ahead and creates markets.
10:17
and how this dynamic between policy, markets, and the need for investments in grid storage, financing, and institution building then plays out as you move into a more advanced stage.
10:34
So in a sense, this is... extremely good example of the challenges that have been tackled at various stages of this growth.
10:50
And they have been tackled in a way that are very much customised.
10:56
to how the institutional capacities in India are, to what the status of the grid is, to what the status of the manufacturing is, and also the developers and the ecosystem around it.
11:11
So I think that is extremely important because In many ways, India has demonstrated that as access increased, or rather we achieved access in the last decade.

So how should policymakers balance these objectives? And if you want, you can address it both for India and for Global South.
