Gateway Church

A little bit suspect.

Y'all remember Robert Morris, the former pastor of Gateway Church in Texas, who sexually abused a 12-year-old girl for four and a half years? And then she came forward and then he got six months in an Oklahoma jail, only six months for four and a half years of horrific abuse.

Well, guess who was one of his mentees? Landon Schott.

So Landon Schott counts this pedophile sexual abuser as one of his mentors.

Do you see that? Oh, he's with Gateway Men.

So he was with Gateway Church.

Um, if he still is, I don't know, some sort of, sort of leader there.

So Hugh Hunt met, um, Doug, Doug the Pug and began speaking, um, with him and they got a friendship.

So honored that you're here.

You can see all the amazing things that God's doing here at Gateway Church.

And If I haven't met you yet, my name is Jelani Lewis, and I have the privilege of serving as the Southlake campus pastor, but also overseeing our campuses.

And today I am so excited.

So it was a men's group called Dominion at the church.

I go to Gateway Church in South Lake and there's a whiteboard up and he was riding.

We're in Genesis.

He was riding on the whiteboard, about 70 of us there.

Welcome to church, everyone.

And Pastor John Burke is a good example of that.

He's the founder and former leader pastor at Gateway Church in Austin, and he wrote a bestseller called Imagine Heaven.

After researching over 100 near-death accounts from physicians, academics... and ordinary people looking for common threads across all of them, his conclusion isn't every detail lines up with scripture.

It's that the patterns across thousands of these accounts line up strikingly well with the biblical picture of heaven, even when individual details vary.

If not- Write it down ... write it down anyways.

Number one value, we love God.

If you're kicking the tires of Gateway Church, you've got to know this.

We're really in love with God.

Amen.

We'll see about the university.

Gateway Church, how about a summer-long ride on a roller coaster?

[laughing]
