But then you need the professional cleaning to clean it out.

Our partner, CRC, has a GDI injection system kit.

And that GDI kit, it's a system made to clean both the intake, The fuel system, the tank, the pump, the injectors, all of it.

And when you use the whole kit, you're going to greatly reduce the amount of that carbon.

If you let it go too long and you get too much of a buildup, it will start wearing the pintles on the end of the injectors.

A little bit more complicated, a little bit more, uh, you know, let's say tricky to calibrate and match.

I mean, it's a GDI four-cylinder.

It's very nice.

It's a 19-inch wheels and torque vectoring, all-wheel drive and things like that.

... he's gonna see the most current information that's available, especially, I know just one example that pops into my head was, uh, Volkswagen when they had some lawsuits brought against them, the class action suits are crazy, about, um, their whatever engine it was.

And out of that lawsuit, one of the parts of the settlement was they realized that they needed to spec out to have people put a different oil in that car than what they specced it out from the factory with because of the amount of, uh, GDI residue that was getting left behind.

And so there are times that it's came out that, no, we're, we, we're gonna recommend a different oil for this car than what we said when it was brand new.

So in Brian's case, he, dealing with the dealer, 'cause he should...

Um, makes a big difference.

We use the CRC GDI kit, the gas direct injected engine kits, to clean those, make sure they stay clean.

It's kinda like going to the dentist.

If you, if you brush your teeth in between those one-time cleanings, y- yeah, your teeth'll be okay, but you still have to get the cleaning done.

Well, the pitfalls of fuel injection is that you're going to have at least one injector for each cylinder.

And in a lot of new engines, they do what they call GDI gasoline direct injection, which has an injector that goes right into the cylinder, just like a diesel engine, and they have a port fuel injector.

So in those particular applications, you would have two injectors per cylinder.

So let's stick with the port fuel injection now, one injector per cylinder.

So if you have one child versus eight children, one cat versus eight cats, one cow versus eight cows, you know you have the potential of having more problems the more that you have, right? So if you have eight cats, well, this cat is this, this cat is this, this cat is sick, this cat is missing, this cat is ripping the rug.

What have you.

So keep in mind that you now have, instead of one carburetor using the standard bearer of an eight-cylinder engine, you have eight potential problems with a port fuel injection system and 16 potential problems if it's GDI and port fuel injection on an eight-cylinder engine.

So what are the potential problems? Well, you have to remember that with a port fuel injection system that you have the potential for an air leak at each injector.

neither on the spark plugs or the coolant level.

And I've used some fuel injector cleaner and drove it for about 60, 70 miles without any effect and also used seafoam, he says, GDI valve cleaner.

And he's suspecting either a bad injector or a carbon buildup on an exhaust valve or maybe a burnt valve or something.

Does that sound about right? It could be

They're getting a, a lot more straightforward, so diagnosing it, it's, it's, you know, getting to where the common person is more familiar with the LS now.

As far as the, the Gen five, still a little bit more complex, uh, with the direct injection, you know, with the GDI module and all.

So a lot of the guys see that and they say, "No, let's just stick to what we know and, and go LS." So L- LTs we're, we're pushing it a little bit more, specifically for the, the four-wheel drive guys, uh, guys that, that are gonna be on bigger wheels.

The LTs offer a little bit better, better torque, especially the, you know, the LAT/LAP platform.
