Gary Stevens

But anyway, with this one, I slowed it down and it looks, and as certain as I can be, unless it's an optical illusion, the Van Basten shot is going wide at the near post.

He gets to it first and Stevens comes across him from sort of 45 degree angle and it hits him and flies into the other girl, which is interesting in the context of what happens.

Cause you know, this is, I mean, Van Basten was still absolutely electric.

I can't stress that enough.

But what happens then is that's kind of slightly against the way to play, but then England almost get done right on halftime.

Vandenberg, they break another counterattack.

Vandenberg, I think from an England corner, Vandenberg, plays a lovely through ball van Basten goes around Shilton really smoothly and Stevens does very well to clear off the line so England 1-0 still in it just about and then soon after half time you get just a classic oh sorry go on Martin sorry go

on that's a foul though in the build-up to that first call.
