Gary Marsh

There was no one else for you to understand, and no, you didn't have, like, a mentor or anyone taking you under their wing.

I think Disney had this whole sort of campaign in mind with not just this show, but other shows, and more shows, and more shows.

And, like, I think that there was...

Gary, the guy who was very mentor-y to me, Gary Marsh, was, like, a visionary, you know? I think he had this idea to make it a program- a programming block, uh, for starters, and then see where that took them.

Because prior to Even Stevens, there was, like, Jett Jackson, um, In a Heartbeat, which was, like, a m- a medical drama, which, like, didn't, didn't make any sense for the-

... and the Disney Channel, our executives and our executive structure led all the way up to Gary Marsh.

You know, like, however you get the education, you get it.

And I remember Gary Marsh actually was one of the people that told me he was like, you need to go to college as well.

So I was getting some feedback that felt like that was the right thing.

But looking back, I'm not sure if I if that was something I would have done again or not.

And I remember when she did and it first came out, you know, everybody was freaked.

And I'm like, oh my gosh.
