I think Gary Knight got gouged, the test got lost.

And if I remember rightly, I read somewhere that you felt lucky that you were able, that you got picked for the second test, but you turned things around.

That was a remarkable test match, that second one that you played in Paris.

There's no question about it.

welcome back everybody to a new episode of eyeshot 50 millimeters and today we're sitting down with gary knight gary knight is one of the most important voices in contemporary photojournalism but also a key figure behind seven photo agency and now seven foundation Gary's career has spanned and moved from front lines of conflict to the deeper questions of authorship, evidence, education as well, and the future of documentary storytelling.

yeah for most agencies but i mean i speak to maggie steve quite a bit in miami and she's become a great friend wonderful photographer you know she defined haiti way back when i mean what a great photographer and a lovely person so gary knight as well as well you know it's just extraordinary that film he made on the stringer you know a lot of attacks on that one but what integrity you know this is something people forget that seven at the time, and this is 25 years ago, so when I did the firm, I was showing that and Seven started at exactly the same time.

So I kind of knew them all.

And as you say, there's more publishing out there than ever before.

So get it out there.

I hope, again, back to the LCC, but Gary Knight, my friend and seven great photographer, he did the external assessing after I'd left and was in shock that not one student on the documentary photography and photojournalism course undergraduates in London had done anything that wasn't about their bedrooms or their personal lives.

Nothing about food banks or about the state of the nation or about Brexit or anything that's a real issue.

It was a much smaller plane, but I've got to say it was one of the most memorable rugby experiences I've ever had.

Gary Knight can't remember much of it because he got a flower bomb in the head from altitude.

These days they would have He just got up and packed the scrum, as you do.

But, yes, it was quite – I don't know what they're going to do for the third test.
