Gary Anderson has missed a field goal for the first time in two years.

Unbelievable.
Andy CarlsonHOST

So back in the friendly confines, Minnesota Fighting Vikings, the only undefeated, untied, unchallenged.
Keith MurphyHOST
51:06
And only field goal miss of the year.

And we were robbed because the Vikings in the Super Bowl, That would have been better for everybody who just wanted to see a good competitive game.
Keith MurphyHOST
51:06
And only field goal miss of the year.
Keith MurphyHOST
51:08
Was that Gary Anderson? Gary Anderson.
Keith MurphyHOST
51:10
Yeah, geez.
Keith MurphyHOST
51:12
And we were robbed because the Vikings in the Super Bowl, That would have been better for everybody who just wanted to see a good competitive game.
Cole SmithHOST
15:47
He didn't have a very productive day at all.
Cole SmithHOST
15:50
Will Reichardt, he did break Gary Anderson's team record for consecutive field goals at 36, but the streak was reset on a blocked 59-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
Cole SmithHOST
16:03
Some people thought that the Vikings should have just punted it.
Cole SmithHOST
16:05
Will Reichardt, he has a career long of 62 yards.
Judd ZulgadHOST
5:44
Will Reichert, pour one out.
Judd ZulgadHOST
5:46
Got a field goal block, but, my God, what, 59 yards? And still broke Gary Anderson's record.
Judd ZulgadHOST
5:52
So that was nice to see.
Judd ZulgadHOST
5:53
But, yeah, it was a win.
Emily LeikerHOST
12:45
He started a new one because he did get to go back out there for another kick after that, but blocked on a 59-yard attempt.
Ben GoesslingHOST
12:53
Well, and I believe he had broken the franchise record earlier in the game for consecutive field goals, which belonged to Vikings fans of a certain age will know it, Gary Anderson.
Ben GoesslingHOST
13:03
So if you want a silver lining in this, it's that you're not going to be sitting there in January with the 2026 equivalent of Pat Summerall saying, Reichert hasn't missed all year.
Ben GoesslingHOST
13:14
As, again, Vikings fans of a certain age will know what I'm referring to.
Griffen SerreHOST
15:30
where he's had 34 consecutive field goals and needs only one field goal to tie Adam Vinatieri, the GOAT of kicking, and Brandon Aubrey and Justin Tucker, with 35 tied for the 10th most consecutive field goals in NFL history.
Griffen SerreHOST
15:44
And with two field goals, Reichert will pass Gary Anderson for the most consecutive field goals made in team history and i i hate that i said gary anderson and will reicher in the same sentence because i don't want to have cursed that because as soon as i was reading that when i saw it online i was like all right i have to put this in the video but i honestly do not want to have to say these two names in the same sentence because we all know what happened back in 1998.
Griffen SerreHOST
16:09
However, Will Reichardt has been relatively on fire, and as far as I know, everything is going well in his personal life, as we all saw with that fishing video with Randy Moss, Chris Carter, and Jake Reed, where they were talking about the 98 season and all that with what Gary Anderson was going through.
Griffen SerreHOST
16:23
seems like will riker is doing pretty awesome in his personal life so i think that things should stay pretty all right there and as well as another milestone that he could be hitting as well which i'm assuming he will as with seven points riker will become the eighth player in league history and the first viking to reach 300 career points and 35 or fewer career games the first player to accomplish the feat since brandon aubry did it in week 18 of the 2025 season and Will Reichardt is going to be doing it in a considerably shorter amount of time because he has been asked to do a lot over the course of the past two years where the offense last year couldn't really get going and the offense this year has been a little bit slow getting out of the gate and he has been on fire holding it down and being the MVP of this team and I think he should honestly be in MVP conversations because with numbers that he's putting up this year absolutely astounding.
Griffen SerreHOST
17:13
But going back over onto the defensive side of the ball, two guys that are going to be looking for a very big game in this one is Andrew Van Ginkle and Dallas Turner, where with Andrew Van Ginkle, if he just gets half a sack against the Colts, he'll be the ninth player from the 2019 draft class to total 40 career sacks.
Griffen SerreHOST
10:58
And then Will Reichert as well.
Griffen SerreHOST
11:00
He had some field goals too, as his streak went to 36, surpassing Gary Anderson for the most consecutive field goals in franchise history.
Griffen SerreHOST
11:08
Unfortunately, that longest active streak in the NFL did come to an end after his third kick of the day, was unfortunately blocked and that led to the street coming to an end however I can comfortably say that at least he didn't miss it on his own Accord or by hitting a cable on a camera it was because someone had to get a hand on it so at least with world record right now knock on wood that he is good enough to where he's not missing on his own power he's missing because somebody else is getting in there so or a camera is in the way or things like that so he's been absolutely on lock this year the Vikings even though it wasn't a beautiful game to watch by any means it was still a game where they pulled out a gutsy win the defense played great the offense passing the ball wasn't as great as it could have been but it was still very efficient the reason why i think the passing game wasn't as efficient as it wasn't as great as it could have been is because they could not run the ball worth anything today that colts defensive line was a lot better than i was giving them credit for going into this game they played really good they shut our running game down almost completely and that opened it up to us being a little bit one-dimensional on the offense with having to just resort to the pass a lot but with what we were able to get away with in the passing game wasn't necessarily too bad and at the end of the day they don't ask how they ask how many right now the Vikings we got six wins and zero losses so that is the biggest thing to take away from this and stay tuned to Vikings digest for all the updates and all the coverage of the post game press conferences all the crazy stats that are going to be coming out as the rest of the week kind of as the rest of the day kind of goes on and the rest of the games kind of follow suit we can get a pretty good idea of how this game shook down for the Vikings overall in week seven as they were going into Week 8 with a 6-0 record and looking to make it 7.
Griffen SerreHOST
12:55
