Gary A. Lowe

Camp added, I remember Martha and I calling Delia and asking her if she'd work in the art department.

My neighbor, Mindy Tennant, would you do the costumes? And Lee Purcell's husband, Gary Lowe, would you do the location designs? I called Lee up and said, Lee, would you do this part? Four months pregnant, but not visibly so on screen, Purcell appeared in three scenes as the mother of Julie's friend, Susie.

Camp also recruited Frederick Forrest, having worked with him in Apocalypse Now.

Forrest, who'd been Oscar-nominated for Best Supporting Actor in The Rose, agreed to play Julie's father, working for scale like everyone else in the cast on what Atlantic considered a teen sex comedy.
