Basically, ultimate limit would be if you choose to do X again, you choose not to have the rest of our playtime today.

Landreth does not teach that.

And I think part of the misconception is that in the second edition of Art of the Relationship,

it seems as

Hold on, I'll tell you.

Fourth edition was published 2024.

So within the last two years, There is an updated segment that was mentioned in the second edition that provides clarity as to what Landreth meant.

And there is never a reason to end a session early.

He actually just passed away.

His name's Gary Landreth.

He's like a real life Mr. Rogers.

Not that Mr. Rogers wasn't real, but this is like one that was around.

and what we're talking about in terms of esteem.

But what we are trying to do is foster that internal source of evaluation that Gary Lynch would talk about, not that external validation that children potentially in other environments are experiencing.

And one of those key areas is, say, the education space where I can talk to Australian education or certainly in Queensland and where I am at in the Baseline area of Brisbane, but certainly still that premise of recognising and praising and rewards, which we've talked about before.

is certainly still part of school culture.

I wanna hit some highlights.

You know, first and foremost, let's go back to Landreth.

He talked extensively two decades ago about how important supervision is, and if you don't have the ability to have someone supervise you from a CCPT theoretical model, you have to supervise yourself, and the way that you do that is by video self-review.

And I know how many of you have searched the world over [laughs] and you can't find a CCPT supervisor.

It's time to go and see mom in the waiting room.

Gary Landreth always emphasizes that we do two things with that statement we say it and we stand up because we want to give both the verbal and non-verbal message that our time is over we're then moving and transitioning the child out of the playroom and back into the waiting room so we will sometimes have obviously different scenarios that will come up across that session so I'll talk about that in a second but what I want to note afterwards is we're doing our case notes And I feel like that probably needs to be a podcast episode as well, because as beginning play therapists, we definitely really struggle with case notes in the beginning.

And so I definitely want to do an episode on that to help everyone.

But we're doing our case notes because we have our legal and ethical professional practice guidelines that require us to do so.
