And then I think the Brazilians or the South Americans or the, the Continentals as they were dismissed as, um, had a lot to do with making boots sort of lighter and more mo- more comfortable molded to, to, uh, your feet on the not unreasonable, um, supposition that, you know, as you mentioned earlier, that it was all about touch.

And, you know, i- if a player like Garrincha or Pelé could feel the ball more than the likelihood-

Of course

... that he would play better.

And, um, one was, was put on the outside of the boot.

What, two was on the instep, and three was on the heel of the boot.

And, uh, and it came with an instruction booklet of, you know, how, how to use the outside of your boot, specifically the one when you wanted to, you know, try a Garrincha-type bendy free kick.

Uh, two was the inside of the boot with a Tommy Boyd, specially cushioned ball and, uh, yeah.

Ruy Castro é fantástico.

Se ele é, é demais.

E, e, e assim, pra uma pessoa como eu, que gosta de futebol, gosta de cultura, ééé, é um livro que fa-- aborda todos esses assuntos, mas é um livro sobre alcoolismo, é um livro sobre vício, sobre o apogeu, a glória e a decadência absoluta de um cara completamente sui generis que era o Garrincha, assim.

É tristíssimo, né?

Um, most fans kind of understood, "Wait a minute, there's no precedent for this.

Um, how is this happening?" And you know, uh, yes, and you had other people who thought they were being clever by bringing up Garrincha in 1962, or Cristiano Ronaldo, and so on.

But certainly it seemed to me that it was more, like, casual fans who dropped in and, you know, uh, kind of like the same fans who watch the Olympics and become experts on curling every four years.

A lot of those guys weighed in and says, "Yeah, go.
