And, and so getting into that, you know, we ask who, who, who is Flock? What is Flock? For the, the, the people who know and understand what's going on with the system but may not understand what the company is.

So to give you a rundown, the founder and CEO of Flock Safety, his name is Garrett Langley.

Now, before Flock, Langley says that he has built two technology companies prior, and his own account of Flock's origin is tied to experiencing the problem of crime and being convinced that better technology and better evidence for police can result in less crime.

I think the company was probably, uh, failing, and that [laughs] the government said, "Well, I see a real, uh, promise with this.

Let's buy it up and let's see if we can push it on the masses."

Yeah, and you know, I, I, I like to give humanity the benefit of the doubt, I really do, and that's a question that Garrett Langley, I f- I feel really has to answer to the American people, is to how did you go from, you know, just serving private communities, HOAs, things of that nature, to, uh, you know, a, a, a national network that's accessible by law enforcement very easily all over the nation?

And for me, I- we believe at Flock that everyone has a right to feel safe.

Flock CEO Garrett Langley has apologized to anyone who feels victimized by their technology and called the misuse by officers completely unacceptable.

The company insists it does not track people on foot or use facial recognition technology.

It says it will not share, access, or sell users' data.

um but the one that made me laugh harder than that was just like this what it said opinion not a fan of jelly roll and then it was signed uncle louis so I found this guy, Uncle, who, it was like one of those, like, you know, sports injury memes, you know, where it's like out for three weeks.

This month, Flock announced changes to address criticisms, shortening the time the company stores data and adding safeguards to flag inappropriate lookups.

In an interview with CNN, CEO Garrett Langley apologized to those who felt they'd been victimized by the technology.
