And I want to start with the life bit of that.

Notably in the book, you describe yourself as a bit of an outsider, having been born in Garnet, Kansas, being Kansas born and bred.

How did that ultimately sort of become part of the way that you view the world and by extension in your career? form the way that you viewed markets investing in a way that fundamentally was different from and in many ways has reshaped what were conventional Wall Street norms?

Well, I think a lot of people view themselves as being outsiders.

August 23, 1868, author Edgar Lee Masters was born in Garnett, Kansas.

He was an American attorney, poet, biographer, and dramatist.

His best-known work is Spoon River Anthology from 1915, a collection of short, free-verse poems that collectively narrate the epitaphs of the residents of Spoon River, a fictional small town named after the Spoon River which ran near Master's hometown of Lewistown, Illinois.
