Garner

We're going to talk to Monica in a minute here.

We've got Garner Town Councilman Phil Matthews with us, I believe.

Good morning.

Councilman,

And as always, enjoy the show every Saturday morning, and I learn a lot from you guys.

Well, thank you so much.

We appreciate it so much, Phil, and I appreciate you listening and give our best to everybody there in Garner.

It's a growing place.

Tonight, law enforcement in Wake County are investigating two neighborhoods where more than 40 shots were fired into homes.

The first happened near the Garner in the Gatewood neighborhood off Creech Road.

Our crew on scene found police investigating after shots were fired around 1.30 this morning.

More than an hour later, around 2.45 in Northeast Raleigh, police were called to a shooting in the Massey Preserve neighborhood off Forestville Road.

State Highway Patrol now investigating.

From the Breaking News Center this morning, a home in Garner hit by gunfire overnight.

Deputies and officers are swarming Plaza Drive near Creech Road and Gatewood Drive.

Paramedics were called to check on an elderly woman inside the house.

Funeral services will be held at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson starting at 2 p.m. And this morning, we're hearing from the family of a Raleigh woman shot and killed allegedly by her girlfriend.

20-year-old little Maria Garcia died Tuesday.

Police found her shot on Garner Road off Hammond Road.

She later died at the hospital.

28-year-old Francisco Benigas Quintanilla is charged with the murder of 37-year-old Victor Martinez Rivera.

The victim was found dead inside a Super 8 motel room on Leon Court in Garner, and the suspect is being held now without bond.

That is your Monday Speed Feed.

New at 4, as we look ahead to Halloween this weekend, the main focus is keeping children and families safe.

So keeping all of that in mind, not every kid's going to look the same, but those are maybe some of those more common things that you might see.

The Bierman Autism Center is also hosting a sensory-friendly trunk or treat this weekend in Garner at the center located off Spaceway Court.

That event will run from 10 until noon on Saturday.

It's free to attend, but you are encouraged to RSVP on their website.

Meanwhile, the number of households making over $75,000 has jumped.

It makes projects like Triangle Station in Garner, where rent starts at 1,160 a month, particularly valuable.

There's housing available for, um, maybe teachers and first responders and people who are, um, you know, working incredibly hard in this market but may not be able to find housing that meets their needs.

And this comes years in the making, and Garner's population could soon hit 50,000, nearly double by 2010.

And four development proposals are raising questions about how Durham can grow without overburdening existing neighborhoods.

One proposal along Glenn School Road could bring more than 200 homes to 181 acres near I-85.

This is Hannah.

I'm originally in quotes from Philly, but now I live in Garner, North Carolina.

And my kind of question, because getting dialed in doesn't always just look like what you do in the locker room and what you do for your craft, it also looks like how you take care of yourself outside of that arena of things.

So my kind of question to have y'all think about to help you get dialed in is: How do you prioritize your relationships, especially when you have a busy schedule like you, you two do? Um, relationships of course can be romantic, with friends, anything like that.

And so with that success, we turned around and signed for three more locations and have grown to now four locations with West Raleigh.

Garner was our second.

Night Deal was our third.

And we'll talk about that here in a little bit.

And that's the fun part about venture investing, right? You can find tremendous founders, um, who have a mission, um, are dogged about that mission and it aligned with, Timing as well as values.

And I mean, from a real estate perspective, I can serve regions.

The city of Fuquay, town of Fuquay, Apex, Garner, Clayton.

And I love that.
