And that's where you were s- position or stationed?

I was, I was in, um, Wajir, Mandera, uh, Garissa.

That, that, that area.

I was positioned there for, for a while.

You see, when you leave Kambaland in Mwingi, as you enter Garissa, a place called Madogo, there are very few members of parliament, including those who live in Mandera, which is hundreds of miles from, uh, uh, Garissa.

Okay? There are very few members of parliament who have gone from Garissa to Mandera by road.

So that evening he comes home, and we have this intense conversation, but at the end of it he says, "I know you're happiest when you're working, but I will ask you one thing.

Don't love your work more than you love me and your kids, and don't put yourself in the line of danger." So one year later, I'm going back to Garissa to take vaccines, and, uh, like three months before KMTC had been attacked by Al-Shabaab, and so everything there was chaos.

But there was a measles outbreak, and over 100 children had died, and I couldn't sleep at night.

It felt like it was my cause.

So I went to Garissa.

The locals didn't want to go there.

[laughs] E- everything was in the amber, but who is like me, hmm? Adventurous, the thrill, but also the desire to ensure that those children are taken care of, and I knew I could.

I don't know how they got me in the car.

I just know the guys with the masks when you drive to Garissa.
