Garfield and Friends

And, um, Thundercats, and Biker Mice From Mars, and, uh, Eek the Cat, Bobby's World, all that.

And the Cart- and, uh, Garfield and Friends, not Garfield.

I thought Garfield was gay.

Not a cat guy.

I mean, I might have watched it at some point, you know, as a kid or something like that.

But, yeah, I mean, I, of course, was a fan of, you know, Garfield and Friends, a lot of the series.

But I think I just missed a lot of the specials that they released kind of in the early to the mid-80s.

But, like, you know, as far as my general fandom for Garfield goes, yeah, I mean, I remember...

So like Calvin and Hobbes way up at the top.

Far Side, which Joey, you and I talked about, and this would be in there and I would always read Garfield.

And so it was always kind of there, as was Garfield and Friends.

I watched a lot of that, too.

I've gone back and watched those and everything.

And I'm assuming that you are also watching Garfield and Friends because that is just that is probably the best Garfield cartoon that they will ever make.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah, that was definitely the one that I was watching.

So the world of comic strips is by no means immune to this.

Surely you've seen a Garfield doll hanging on someone's car mirror, or you've bought Garfield birthday cards, or watched Garfield and Friends, or one of the more recent movies, and that's just a small sample of all the Garfield merchandise that one could buy or take part in.

To use just one example.

Y- yeah.

I, like, when Calvin and Hobbes was in papers, I enjoyed also reading Garfield when I read Calvin and Hobbes, and I think Bill Watterson might disagree with me on that based on some other comments that he made during the strip's run.

But I liked Garfield at the time, and I haven't really gone back and read old Garfield strips the way I do with Calvin and Hobbes, but I think if I did, I would probably enjoy the old ones.

And I liked Garfield and Friends and, you know, stuff like that.

But I think Watterson does have a point that when you start plastering these characters everywhere, they kinda start to become boring.

dope like we said we talked about that how the success of that is why winston became more popular and got more lines in the second uh ghostbusters which was literally like nothing because they only gave him like 15 minutes for the whole movie

number eight garfield and friends

I liked it.

I actually enjoyed that song.
