Garden City's Anthony Calderon was a standout for Garden City High School before competing in college at Fort Hays State.

His coaching career has brought him to his current role as an assistant at the newly established Garden City Community College Women's Program.

ended up back out here in Southwestern Kansas, where I, uh, coached kids club at a greater gold wrestling club for two years.

And Dan was fortunate enough for, uh, the high school had somebody that had, uh, moved away out of state on staff and, uh, position opened up and, and I was, I was extremely grateful that they, uh, thought of me and, and reached out to me, especially at that time with the, uh, With me being a part of the Highway Patrol and having such a diverse schedule, I was pretty happy that they allowed me to come on staff with them.

And now up here at the Garden City Community College, helping to grow the sport here as well as lay the foundation.

But I think a lot of the recruits that we've brought in are going to do a good job of that on their own.

Look for them when they run the football to run behind this guy on the right side, that they may be a right-handed running team.

Now, he played his first two years at Garden City Community College, so he's a junior college guy, came in, played 12 games last year.

And he, as I said, A lot of positivity coming into this year.

Charlie, can I say something without being arrogant? You know what?

They're 0 and 8, so they're, they're probably the, the bottom of the barrel when you talk about the Jayhawk Conference.

Uh, Colby will have a tougher test here on Saturday when they come home for their home opener and conference opener against Garden City Community College on Saturday afternoon.

That will be a much different test.

But shout out to CCC volleyball picking up their sixth win of the season, a 3-0 sweep of Pratt Community College last night.

Others, it's Larry.

So he is a 6'9", 215-pound big man from Los Angeles, went to Garden City Community College out of high school, then uses his performance there to go to Utah Tech.

as a solid rotational big man, 5-3 per game in 16 minutes.

Goes to Samford, where he averages 4-2.5 per game in less time, 10 minutes per game.

And then do a little bit more.
