It's a very comic book thing to have the alliterative name, but the one guy in their family that's a superhero doesn't have the alliterative name.

And the Blue Lanterns are hope.

Ganthet creates the Blue Lantern at the end of the Sinestro Core War.

Ganthet is one of the few named Guardians.

And the guy who toured around with Ollie and Hal in the 70s.

And having Hal go crazy completely ruined things for me.

And, and the fact that at that point then, instead of the ring, the Guardians doing what they've done for decades, and Kyle just luckily stumbles out of a bar into an alley to take a leak, and, and, and that's when Ganthet's like, "Hey, you look like you could use a ring." Like, it was the most ridiculous way for the character to obtain the ring.

And, and I know he's the gateway for a lot of folks.

It's either he or John Stewart that got people into Green Lantern, and that's great.

Um, you know, it came on the back of Emerald Twilight, right? Like you said, Hal went mad.

Things were crazy.

And then basically dude gets ring because Ganthet's like, "All right, you'll have to do."

[laughs] He'll do.

I am so glad the article brought this up because this is a wild, deep cut concept.

The article describes the Mosaic World as a patchwork planet made up of dozens of different alien cities created by a rogue guardian.

It's such a bizarre storyline.

So basically, this mad guardian named Appa Ali Apsa went around the universe, ripped entire cities and communities out of their home planets, and mashed them all together on the planet Oa like some cosmic Frankenstein experiment.

It is societal chaos on a planetary scale.

You have dozens of different alien species, cultures, and philosophies, many of whom are natural enemies, suddenly forced to live side by side with no infrastructure, no shared language, and no resources.

When that happened, there was exactly one ring left in the universe.

Just one.

[laughs]

I think this means we need to get Willem Dafoe to play, uh, Saint Walker.

So, uh, Sayd and Ganthet, honestly, we could have a whole slideshow about these two.

I, I was very tempted to include a lot more about them both, uh, especially Ganthet.
