So why don't you ever write about Gannon College? Are you mad at them?

No, I have written about Gannon College.

They won their first ever national title in football last year, in basketball, I mean, last year.

And I heard about it.

St. Louis at Betty's Books.

Then Erie, Pennsylvania at the Gannon University.

Hanging out with Andrew Iden.

Say hi to Andrew for me.

So they're like, huh? Yeah.

So I go and then I'm a practice dummy at this college, Gannon in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Yep.

And, uh, I was a dummy.

And it was tough.

And you were talking about the books you couldn't figure out and this and that.

I remember I'd come out from college, drive over to, it's called Harbor Creek Home for Boys, about 20 minutes from Gannon.

And I'd show up and they'd be in the pool room, the video game room, whatever, after their school.

Yeah.

But I actually, as much as I wanted to play, um, I was a little too poor to afford any instruments, and, uh, I actually didn't start playing music until I was in college at Gannon University.

It was a Roman Catholic college, and this nun I had teaching me piano, right?

Okay.

Now, they must be viewed as proactive growth strategies.

Look at Gannon University and Ursuline Vollage, two financially healthy institutions that decided to merge to capitalize on cross-state enrollment advantages and complementary academic strengths.

Or shared services.

Yes, exactly.

And as we remember the heroic acts of courage and the innocent lives lost on 9-11, we welcome today Professor of American Political History at Gannon University, Jeffrey Bloodworth, for some reflection, insight here 25 years on.

Professor, what's your personal response as a historian and as an American to this anniversary?

It was actually my first semester of graduate school when 9-11 happened, and it was a very sobering moment because we had a teach-in offered by the university, and we had a significant number of professors who tried to blame the United States for what happened on 9-11.

On Friday, New York will pause to remember the nearly 3,000 people killed on September 11, 2001.
